4 Mal is a Russian artist that has been building his profile nicely in recent times. 4 Mal is comprised of Anton Guzev & Evgeny Svalov, and Flip Cube is their own imprint. The first few releases have featured some solid progressive music with some smart vocal elements too. Let's see what their latest offering "Crystal Pure" has in store. The Crystal Pure original mix is a throbbing progressive house track with some analogue style elements to it. There are some cool dark parts to the track too, and generally the tra

Bit Records, a digital label from Mexico, has been releasing on average 2 records a month for the last year or so. They have also started up an offshoot label called Kansak Recordings. This new EP from Rhythm Punkz, who have been a successful for Bit Records in the past, is called the "Season EP."First up is Pepper Mill, a progressive track which reminds me of some of the early Renaissance CDs. A solid bass drum and bassline allows the track to evolve nicely leading to a smooth main drop. A one line vocal sample t

Radiocity Records is based in Budapest, the capital of Hungary. In recent times Hungary has been a perhaps surprising centre of progressive talent. Let's see what the latest installment of the Hungarian progressive push is made of! This release comes from Jay Lower Jr. and is entitled "Brolah".First up is the original mix and it is definitely a piece of

Atlant Digital is one of the few French progressive labels, and they are back with the new release from Juan Deminicis, the interestingly titled "Cosmopolitan Drink EP." Jacco @ Work's recent release on the label, "Inside Journey," was pretty strong, fingers crossed that this release is of a similar standard. The title track, Cosmopolitan Drink, is a punchy progressive track with all the usual sweeps, squeaks, and bleeps. This tune should be at home in both a radio or club set, definitely a solid start to the EP.

Bellarine is an Australian imprint that is well known in progressive circles. They have taken the wise route for this release from Groovematic, giving us a four track EP to get stuck into! Definitely looking forward to this.Firstly we have French Affair, a neat atmospheric progressive number with a rolling bassline and soaring chords. A happy progressive moment, which would go down well in the likes of Ibiza, Miami or the Greek Islands for sure.Second at bat is Summer Cruise, a dancefloor house moment wi

German label Jetlag Digital, with fellow countryman Tobias Hoppe on the remix, bring us this release entitled "Tribal Nation," nearly an all-German affair. Bringing balance is Argentinian Facundo Romano, who is the featured original artist on show. The number of Argentinian prog artists seems to be have risen in recent times and this release helps continue that trend.Firstly, we have the Tribal Nation (original), this tune is a stripped down progressive house track with distinctive bongos. SoundTribe Rekords is an interestingly spelled imprint based in Florida. For this release they present Marcelo Vasami's "Switch Blade EP" - 4 mixes of progressive house muzik.Kicking things off is the Dave Ferol Remix. This is a mysterious progressive tune with tight drums and a bubbling bassline. Very usable for club, podcast or radio play.Secondly, we have the Original mix, which is a minimal progressive number for the main room. A growling progressive track, not quite as strong as the Fe

This offering from German native, Shabu Vibes, (Andrej Patzkewitsch) is called ”Karma Point" and features the original only.Karma Point is a nice blend of progressive sounds, cruising along smoothly with a rumbling bassline and soaring chords. The Italian Starlight label, who brought us the recently successful "1986" release, now brings us this EP from Dankann, a two tracker called "Paradise".Firstly, we have A Long Weekend in Paradise, this is a peak time progressive track with several trance elements thrown in. A solid bassline and warm arpeggios help give the track a really clean feel. Definitely something for a DJ like Marcus Schulz for example.Part 2 of the EP is called Return from Paradise. This tune naturally contains some

dPen is a Greek DJ/producer who has seen his productions released on labels like Pangea, Lost Language, Feral Code and Source of Gravity. This 2 track EP release comes on the Italian PyCairo Records and is in a tech house flavour. dPen seems to have the ability to switch between the main underground genres with releases in progressive, tech and house formats over the years.Maybe Not is a techy number with all the usual plumbing, tight drums, a relentless bassline and bleepy stabs. Kickroach Recordings came into existence at the start of this year. Based in Quebec, Canada, the label has been banging the releases out; this one from Edu Yattah, is their 17th of 2008! This EP consists of the original mixes of "Believe" and "Bell Wind" plus an "Advance mix" of "Believe."Believe is a progressive track that slowly evolves and builds, layering sound upon sound as it goes. A solid opening gambit from Edu Yattah, this original would work particularly well near the end of a club or radio set.

Denver's Polytechnic Recordings has been promoting music like it‘s going out of style. No complaints though, as most of the music on show is pretty damn cool! This latest release features Jaap Ligthart and is entitled "Alive Cat." The original is a mix of old school bass stabs with a nu school tech house flavour. Very cool indeed, definitely a good start. The Humkey Remix offers more energy and some different ideas. This mix is more dancefloor, and it doesn't contain the usual sounds, despite this it’

Argentinian producer, DJ Paul brings us the latest episode on the Kansak Recordings imprint, a sub-label of Bit Records Mexico. Nice to see 3 originals making up the release, an EP like this definitely helps develop an artist’s sound and identity. The first track in the "3D EP" is entitled Luna Electronica, a progressive number with an electronic analogue bassline to the fore. Not a bad start to proceedings.Next up is 3D Heart, it’s quite hard to categorise in terms of genre and quite abstra

Toes in the Sand has been putting out quality progressive for a number of years now. Some of the early releases from Michael Lanning, Naveen G and Siberian Sun set the tone all the way back in 2004, a testament to the quality of their music and their obvious connection to it. This release comes from Mexican artist Redloft who’s been developing his name in progressive circles. His remix of Jacco@Work vs. Native, ”Two World Collide” definitely stood out for me. He presents in this release "Second Sunri
