Hey there,
After going around the Ableton block a few times, I wrote a few guides for using Ableton that address the questions that come up for typical new users. The guides include:
Warping in Ableton Live
Mixing in Arrangement View
How to Cue in Live / How to set up the Echo Indigo DJ Card
The guides can be found in the tutorial section of my site (www.vinkalmann.com).
Any questions? Please ask, I'm happy to help!

Yep, or doing wacko stuff with the envelopes will generate billions of odd sounds from existing samples. --Kent

Are you wanting to turn off one part of a completed track? Meaning turn off the instruments to get the vocals? If so, there's no easy way to do that. You can try EQing the track to get the part you want, but it's never perfect (usually far from it).

actually when its mastered its a 2 track stereo mix f i was was a 1 track it would be MONO.
You can get creative with eq's and filters and flipping the phase to make an a Capella but like stated its never 100%..There is a tutorial on how to effectively make an A Capella @ www.acapellas4u.co.uk

Okay...I've been putting off making the switch to Ableton for quite some time now. I stil think it will be a while before I formulate a live set in Ableton, but I want to star using it to record mixes.
Accordingly, I would be very appreciative if somenone can give me a step by step walk through of how to warp whole tracks. I've heard of several different methods, but they each seem very confusing and convoluted.
Any other suggestions????
Thanks in advance, peeps!!

Check out the tutorials on youtube, do a search on Ableton Live warping and you will find many ones. There are indeed many methods, one is not the absolute one as you have different approaches based on the material.
For house music with a fixed drum pattern my methology is to find the best possible starting fixed warp point, set a loop of 4 bars, adjust the non-fixed warp points, jump forward with the loops to the end and set a final fixed warp point at the end. Then go back with the loop settings to double-check it all. Depending on the material it takes 1-2 minutes max.
