I have the Hercules RMX. The other models were just too small. There was no way I could work the knobs without hitting the jog wheels.

I used Virtual DJ for a few weeks but ultimately bought Traktor 3 because it was on sale for $100.00. But honestly, if Virtual DJ is working for you, stick with it. Traktor has a lot more features but I don't use most of them.

The Hercules RMX works with both programs very smoothly. There is no way I could just use a mouse to point and click a mix. I have to have something to grab and turn. Essentially the Hercules is a mixture of a mixer with the controls of a CD deck.

There are other manufacturers like Vestax, Numark, etc but I chose the Hercules for price and function. Plus it's built pretty well. The lower end models tend to be made from plastic and look really cheap up close.

Also if you buy the Hercules you won't need a separate soundcard. It's an ASIO soundcard and has line outs that can feed almost anything. Personally I run my line outs to a set of powered studio monitors and it works just fine.

I've been heard too from local DJ forum in my country (Indonesia) that Virtual DJ hasn't making a good work if u play with BCD 2000, it has a late signal when u trying to moving a knob on it. is it the trouble came from computer or on the midi itself ? as i know, Behringer having more complete feature than other brand, is it true ?

so, my question is, what the correctly brand of midi controller that work perfectly with Virtual DJ ver 5.0 rev.4 (I'm using NEC Versa E6300 with windows XP for operating program, Creative External Sound card Live 24bit) ? Numark total control ? M-audio? Hercules? or u guys have another suggestion for me ?

help me please because now I'm looking to buy midi controller but i still confused bout the brand itself and also feature that it has....

thank's

why do you consider it "cheating"??

its just a way to make mixes, and there are no rules set in place as to how someone is supposed to do their mixes.

most people like using those programs so they can hear their favorite songs in a mix, or to share with friends, etc. nothing wrong with that, and its definitely not cheating!
