im going to be getting a new laptop soon mainly for my music use...just wondering where could i download a good recorder program(preferably free icon_smile.gif ) that i could use to hook from my mixer to the laptop to record my mix!! any thoughts??

audacity is really good!!!i wonder what cable can i hook up from my pioneer 600 mixer to my laptop(when i get it) to get the best possible quality sound?? is there anythin better than a phono to jack cable that can be used??

invest in a decent soundcard, that will solve quality issues.

Soundforge was great when I had a PC, but now with mac I roll with Audacity.

Instead of using just a plain old 1/8" audio cable into your built in sound card I suggest getting some sort of audio interface, I use my Torq interface and the quality is usually pretty good

but what does Mixmeister have to do with the original question in this thread anyway?

He wanted to know what he could use to connect to his MIXER to record from an external source.....
