can anybody help with this one? every night i've been to cielo or sullivan room or other BasicNYC nights this summer they've played this amazing track where the whole melody is carried by what sounds like a xylophone. it has a bit of a Latin edge. the melody has two beats, another two beats, and then a long descending sequence, & then this pattern repeats with variations.
the most distinctive thing about it for ID purposes is probably the male voice over that is talking about africa and the history of black people, mentions things like "afro-beat," "afro jazz" and "dance revolution." it seems like everybody knows it but i've never heard it before this summer, but with it being played so often it seems like it must be pretty new. have tried everything to id it. can anybody help?
