I assume you mean the Saw pluck sound?

Any standard soft synth with a good envelope routing function can achieve this sound. Sylenth, NI Massive, and the DCAM synths spring to mind

Sticking it out is the best advice you can be given.

I'm using Cubase a long time, and though it was daunting at first, once you understand the workflow and the layout of it's sequencer, the rest will come with playing around with the various functions it has.

Also, FL is an excellent program to build a foundation of DAW knowledge upon. The simplicity and quick results it can yield are what keep beginners motivated to strive to push the limits of what FL is capable of.

 MSTR_DJ wrote: Hello all.

I've been meaning to start producing for years, but I've never got past a shitty beat and a laughable bassline.

I've got Reason 4.0 and Cubase 4 but I haven't got a clue - I'm useless with the most basic computer programs.

Are reason & cubase ok? I can't get a single decent sound out of reason and I can't even get cubase going at all!

Anyone know of a site/resource that runs through the basics for idiots? Or maybe I should learn my place and stick to the Pioneers...

Cheers for any advice.

No worries. Take it slow... I'll go for the Pioneers. In time though, you'll be able to run into what you're really destined to do great. Best of luck!

The Sasha Soundlab is designed to take you behind the scenes of Sasha's studio. Most electronic productions are full of multilayered and mixed elements, so it's very hard to pick apart what's going on. Throughout this Soundlab, you'll be able to hear the individual elements that make up a Sasha production. We hope that you'll be able to draw inspiration and learn how you can create these types of sounds yourself.

His music has touched and inspired two generations of dance music fans. Now, you can get access to his sounds and techniques for your productions.

THIS IS NOT JUST A SAMPLE LIBRARY

Any successful producer will tell you that you'll never create a chart-topping song by simply layering stock samples on top of each other. You need to customize and create your own style. That's exactly what Sasha Soundlab lets you do.
