Outside the Box Music was launched in 2006 and is the creative outlet of Dutchman Eelke Kleijn. Besides being a home base for his own productions, Outside the Box Music aims to release quality music from upcoming as well as established producers. In terms of music the label is as diverse as its name suggests, many releases not being easy to pigeonhole into a certain style but instead cross the conventional borders between them.
With releases and remixes by the likes of Dualtone (Johan Vermeulen / Jermain Hatusupy from Fine Taste & Infinitize), Kosmas Epsilon, Nick Hogendoorn, Roger Martinez, Sebastian Davidson and head-honcho Eelke Kleijn himself, the label has built up a pretty varied sound and identity. DJ Support has come from many different corners, including Hernan Cattaneo, Jimmy van M, Anthony Pappa, Fish Go Deep, Paul van Dyk and Nick Warren. Outside the Box Music is slowly but steadily becoming a well known name in quality house music.

Both hailing from Greece, DJ Tim & Andi Vasilos are no strangers in the scene. Having remixed artists such as Elusive, Terry Grant and Matt Rowan, they have been going strong ever since their first release in 2005. With Lucky Girl, they deliver a funky slab of house music. Stabs and hits are introduced along the way, emphasising the groove in a really clever way. This will definitely appeal to all house lovers.
J-Soul from Russia is on remix duties for this one. His trademark electro-edged sound has been doing extremely well, with recent tracks seeing support from all the top jocks! His remix turns the original inside out, not leaving much of the original intact; that doesn't really matter that much though, as J-Soul managed to create a wicked progressive-tinged groove. Big room warning!

DJ Tim & Andi Vasilos are a team that you may be familiar with on the progressive scene. They have been responsible for a good few quality remixes and its good to see another orginal tune from these two.
'Lucky Girl' is a straight up slice of funky house music in the classic mould. A funky rhythm and bass section lend itself well to the stab synths and pads that add pace and urgency to the track. It all zips along nicely building towards the breakdown which is the selling point of this tune. .... 4/5 [ Pete Lunn]
