David Teruel - Lebudneguh (Ascension Records)
Release Date: January 1st, 2007
Reviewed: 7/10

Ascension offers this quirky and semi-dark two-tracker with utterly confounding names by David Truel.

Trapeador is a likable little track, dark and twisted in the bass and pad, backed up with tech house percussion. The lead is a sparse couple of notes played on a reverb laden electro synth. It has decent structure, although a bit short perhaps.

Lebudneguh starts of with a dark flavor as well, with its growling synth bass. Efx/exciters, dance hits, and other complementary sounds lighten it up. The minimal vocal sample adds texture and appeal.

Overall, these two tracks exhibit great production and several unique sounds. Although not really progressive house, both tracks contain a layered building progression, with decent build, drops, and fills.
