Moshing Idiots - Mosh It (Quimika Records)
Release Date: October 22nd, 2007
Reviewed: 8/10

Quimika’s first release was a two parter by the Estonian duo Moshing idiots, cleverly named Mosh it. The first release contained the original and remix by PH.com resident historian Colin C.

The original consists of a quirky drum production with selling sytnh layers and a deep pulsating bass. The First break introduces a series of hypnotic ambiances that kicks the energy level up when the drum production and bass team back up to push the groove deeper. Littered with smaller more intricate breaks, really keeps the original from being one monotonous in your face freight train of a track. Mosh it carries a strong groove ideal for leading up to bigger floor filling tracks and features a multitude of driving elements.

Colin C presents his Retrotengo mix a grueling bass induced stomper of a track. Laden with heavy kicks and mechanic ambiances, Colin gives it a darker touch with his alternate approach of the melody. Although not as driving as the original or Nicholas van Orton remix, Colin keeps this one far from being a sadistic lullaby, with elaborate variances and thick pulsating grooves.
