Dan S - Bleeding Finger (Follow Mix Records)
Release Date: February 13th, 2008
Reviewed: 4/5
User Rating: 4.1/5

This is the second release from new label Follow Mix records, out of Marseille, France. Leading the way for many young French artists.

The Original starts out as a dark progressive dance floor stormer with heavy kicks and think basslines. The electronic key shifting synth lines give this track an outer space like feel making it much deeper than possibly as dark as it could be, making it definitely a peak time track possibly en filter or layer of those high synths with other heavy hitters. At the right spots this can keep that dance floor rockin'

The Siren Crying Tool Mix sounds just like what it says, a much more ambient mix with a crying synth line making it useful and described as "a minimal tool" - and with some work this could be useful with the right approach. Played on it's own this track is quite dramatic but during the right set it could also work, but watch your mixing skills with that the siren line, so it doesn't get too annoying.

This release is also available for free download from the Follow Mix myspace.

Overall this release is of nice production quality, and credit should go to Dan S and the label for the free download approach to help spread the label. Only one drawback, it would be nice to have at least one other remix that keeps the beat darker with that thick bass line and heavy kicks and not as melodic.
