Djak Unit - Space Camp EP (Kickroach Recordings)
Release Date: February 22nd, 2008
Reviewed: 4.5/5
User Rating: 4.1/5

This is the second release from Kickroach Recordings, a dark melodic set of tracks from Djak Unit meant to be hypnotic with layering potential by a clever DJ.

The first track on this EP is Space Camp, with a unique and dark melodic synth line and fairly minimal beats. This track is kind of boring on it's own, but begs to be layered and for that it's got big potential.

The second track Formika has a huge driving pusating bassline, and a steadily building drum structure. A bit slow at zero point, but bump it up a few notches and this is a solid dance floor winner. Like the previous huge potential for layering and using the great dynamics of this track.

Overall this is a solid second release from Kickroach, with good production value and potential crossover for todays progressive / minimal tech sounds and a clever DJ could use either of these tracks in unique ways.
