Christopher Manik - The Heights EP (audio logic recordings)
A producer / dj of New York, New York Christopher Manik has a diverse and comprehensive musical background and produces / composes everything from techno to breaks to house (in various forms) but is most well know for his Electronica and Down tempo works. With some notable work Chris is gaining support and recognition in the music world. His latest release titled “The Heights EP” on Audio Logic Recordings is a testament to his production and composition abilities.

Carnival Masks – starts of fairly quiet and simplistic with interesting fx (on of which isn’t tempo’d) making for some great mixing and layering potential as the melody doesn’t really come in until around 2 min into the song or so. Very nice deep mellow minimalistic feel to it.

Citizen 85 - definitely more of an electro feel than Carnival Masks, Citizen 85’s synth work is good but could use a little more depth or variation to it and seems to be off beat at times. Other than that the song has good structuring to it and mixes well. Lots of bass there…definitely pounds

The Heights – starting it of with a bass beat and part of the synth melody (a very nice melodic sounding one) the track gives you a kick back feel. Deep warm synth work and some depth fx make you smile and feel like you are in your happy place when you listen. All this gives way to a well structured build and break. The song leaves the same as it came very mellow quietly. Very nice track. Loads of fun to mix and layer.

Overall good release. Definitely look for future releases from Chris as he has a lot of talent and potential.
