Next up on techy label Kung fu recordings the heat is turned up with an all star uber-cool remix package of Bone Back, a track whose original was put together by label boss Jeff Bennett (aka Michal Mirecki ). This Swedish based producer is also known under a number of guises including Jeff Bennett's Lounge Experience and Mike Pung.
Terry Lee Brown Jr creates a deep vibe with his take, setting the tone with heavy but muted chord stabs while stripped back rhythms roll neatly underneath some airy pad work. The production is on the nail with subtle automated changes doing the work and in the process re-shaping a catchy track.
The Mateo Murphy remix keeps deeper still and utilizing a raw, acidic synth line formulates a slower chain of events that gradually increases the pressure with a low slung bass line nudging its way in. The aggressive tone strips back while the break takes a new dimension into sublimity, almost becoming endless and before we know the track has said its piece.
Last up the Hakan Lidbo remix is the sweetest of this release. It’s excitingly gritty and experimental in essence. Minimal techno the way it should be.
Definitely one to check out for the techy crew.
