Bruno Renno - Next Level (Renno Records)
Release Date: April 29th, 2008
Reviewed: 3.5/5
User Rating: 3.7/5

Bruno Renno and Renno Records has come a long ways since it's initial start. With tight production and quality remix work, this re-release of 'Next Level' has proven that Bruno and the label have definitely gotten there.

There isn't an original mix in the release: Round One, Round Two and Flawless Victory are each original sides of the work, which has vocals by Moe Isseika and features a new remix by Josh Gordon. The original remixes from DJ Boo and Gliffo are also included.

Round One has a tight tribal beat structure, haunting vocals and sweeping pads. Great in a deep prog tribal set or for layering a complex structure.

Round Two brings it to a deeper level with darker tribal structure and pinging synth call backs and that warehouse rave feel to it. A total rediscovering of the styles of Chab and DJ Nukem.

Flawless Victory a heavy drumming tribal mix any good tribal crusader can march to. Probably best used on parade floats.

DJ Boo a straight up tribal drum structure with deep prog bass synth elements. Deep pulsating bass

Gliffo another similar remix with pulsating synth lines and tribal drum structures.

Josh Gordon brings a new twist to this idea bringing the pulsating bass and synth right up front to create more of an atmosphere, then lets loose with the tribal beats.

Overall this release is a great step for Renno Records, showcasing of talents and bringing the label to the next level. Those still into heavy tribal prog or were fans of Chab and DJ Nukem should definitely check this one out.
