Soliquid - Kabal (Proton Music)

I'm always on the lookout for something that little bit different so I was delighted to stumble across this EP from Proton Music. Soliquid's Kabal EP is a melodic techno record that screams quality from the moment you hit play.

The title track sets the mood with some astonishing production and beat programming, its nice to be challenged by a track and wonder how it was created. The choice of sounds and riffs are excellent and all build to an intense and trancy break down before kicking back into a great chord progression.

The interestingly titled 'Blue Bubbles and Pink Rabbits' keeps things in a similar vain only with more of an emphasis on lush chords this time. Again it's hard to find fault with this track and respect must be given once more to the immense production on display.

'Sunflower Therapy' is the last track. It's a deeper cut on the whole with a dark and pulsating bottom end supported by a crunchy and techy rhythm. Some well timed synths bubble in and out and it all works to great effect. The break down introduces some lovely edits, it really is a master class in techno production.

If you're in the mood for something entirely different then head this way.
