Australian dance label Swordtail offers us the work of Mexico's Redloft, hot on the heels of his exceptional remix of Pete Lunn's Flammingos.

Starting with Delicatessen this little melodic number soaks you with its ambient drift. It has some old school progressive charm about this one and except for his modern production we are sent back to the hayday of this genre. The beat is straightforward and mixes well with the deeper moments within.

Facets continues along a melodic vibe yet this has a darker side to it and the riff is something a little different, in fact it's reminiscent at times of Northern Exposure as the song seems to grow.

The Delicatessen (The Stain Remix) throws a little more swing in the mix almost as if it starts and stops from bar to bar as the ambiance expressed by the original cleverly cuts through.

Facets (Dynamic Illusion & Silence O Phobia Remix) comes in capitalising on the darker side of the original and the blend works well. Tribal verses lend even more ambiance, in which expression seems to fly from every which way. Again, the overall sound is familiar, as this releases seem to show influence from other well-known producers.

"Very beautiful music with lots of substance and depth. You can tell some hard work was put into this EP. I think these are nice and chill but not really strong enough to play out on the dancefloor." - 4.0 / 5
