revisits last year’s Marimba From Hell from Saul B. Dropping darker vibes with interesting experimentation going on in this rollin’ deep techno remix pack.
Saul B’s 2008 Dark Mix has added electro elements in dark tones and includes great syncopated clicks and beeps, but at the track’s peak, it feels just a little crowded.
Quebec’s Saillant dispatches a more cautious and subtle approach to the bleeps and tight percussion, here things are mixed nice and smoothly. He’s added a gentle xylophone/marimba part and other dubby goodness to the breakdown, but maybe the drop could have been teased out a bit longer.
Djak Unit’s remix is also dark and brooding but deeper, additional jazzy snare fills, deep humpy bass, trippy shifting syncopation on the high end, metallic bleeps, cool dubby echoes, and a hot hushed breakdown flesh this one out, very tight work.
