Uone & Pavel Khvaleev - Make Me Wet (Disoma Records)
Release Date: August 19th, 2008
Reviewed: 4.5/5
User Rating: 4.2/5

Australia has been the spawning ground of talented producers over the past few years. Perhaps there's something in the drinking water, because Disoma Records (which is a division of Moonbeam) latest offering shows that the Aussie's are just getting better and better. This is "Uone & Pavel Khvaleev - Make Me Wet".

Make Me Wet (Original Mix)
gets thing started with a nicely tuned kick and a dark and dirty bassline that lays in the background far enough to make a statement, yet not overpower things. Percussion and synth stabs are throughout, and the track becomes more powerful when the catchy vocal starts asking you to make her wet. This one isn't QUITE as powerful as the 2 remixes in this package, but give credit where credit is due; this is definitely a good track, worthy of plenty of play.

The Continuum Remix is brilliant. The first half of the track is dark, with a very quirky and wobbly bassline that catches your attention right out of the gates. The dark vibe continues for several minutes, before Continuum shocks the listener with a sudden, yet very smooth energy boost; transforming the sound from dark and dirty to bright and pounding tech house with one swift rhythm-laced kick to the face. This is an extremely versatile track that's perfect for easily taking your set up to the next level.

Rounding out this excellent release is a remix from Steven Ward that treads the line between tech house and techno, without actually crossing it. A dark, throbbing, techno-driven bassline keeps things dark; but the light, techy percussion in harmony with quick, powerful synth stabs and bleeps balance the sound out just right. Ward decides to tame the "Make Me Wet" vocal down, using only one small part of the vocal as a supporting element to the overall architecture of the track. Most will agree that picking between the Continuum and Steven Ward remix is a daunting task; as they're both excellent.

Overall, "Make Me Wet" is a superb release, and that seems to be the overall opinion of the MyPromoPool crew as well; as it peaked at #1, and remained there for several days. With that said... if you are even slightly into tech house, you should snatch this one up the minute it's released on the 19th of August.
