Yura Popov - Need Control EP
(Polytechnic Recordings)
Release Date: September 9th, 2008
Reviewed: 3.5/5

Polytechnic's work rate of late has been huge, with release after release, yet there are definitely some quality tunes in there too. Here with the "Need Control EP" they introduce us to Yura Popov, who kicked off his musical career in the late nineties and it doesn't seem short of top tunage.
This is not the first time we've seen a Russian conquer progressive and the title track is another example of this. The tune glides into action with some nice accents on the lead arrangement. It has a pleasant and quite subtle build quality, capped with sharp production.
Day by Day continues on the same vibe; tunes like this fall sweetly into your average set without loosing momentum. I really go for the shuffle created by the lead pattern.
Another nice release from the Polytechnic boys, yet I would label this release more filler then their usual thriller, but no doubt it will receive some play.
