Thee-O - Lost moments EP

You never truly know what you will get with a Thee-O track. He plays techno, trance, house, etc. I even remember having Goa trance CD's by him. "Lost Moments" is my favorite one on this release. The stabby acid undertones that compliment the woodwind melody swings along whilst being flooded by a liquid drenched effect. Great feelgood middle party progressive layers.
Unknown Region, you can hear the underlying techno roots in this one right away. Lots of noisy confusion over a intelligent techno percussion using classic drum kits. The breakdown hits, the acid takes over and it slides into a groove that you never really see coming, and the swirling madness gives way to the acid driven funky sidechain.
The Skeptical Believer, This one is a very mellow, yet still covered in tripped out effects and mid-range progressive pads. Very deep tones create a calm and still creepy atmosphere. There are layers upon layers of little samples that play delicately off one another and seem to swim through the psychedelic atmosphere. Not too much on percussion here but I can imagine the direction was meant to be more tripped out than perc driven. Amazing release Thee-O!!!

"Thee-O seems to be getting better and better every time. Lost Moments is my pick in this package. I really like the housey groove in Unknown region but there's a spacey FX synth over the whole thing that really distracts me." - 3.5 / 5
