Sebastian Davidson - Cherry Blossom EP Part 2 (featuring remixes by Eelke Kleijn, Nosmo v Kris B)

Dutch up-and-comer Sebastian Davidson is making quite a name for himself. His past productions have garnered support from major players such as Paul Van Dyk, Hernan Cattaneo and Jimpster; and he's done releases for heavy-hitting labels like Global Underground, Plastic City, and Armada. Most recently, Davidson has been working with Outside the Box Music, the highly successful imprint headed by fellow Dutchman, and progressive golden child, Eelke Kleijn. OTB bring us another big release, with Sebastian Davidson - "Cherry Blossom EP - Part 2"
Ice Worlds is a very catchy progressive/tech tune, that instills a warm feeling over the listener from the beginning. Davidson's lead synth-line carries the weight, and also works as an excellent hook that remains fresh in your mind long after the song has run it's course. He does an great job with layering the pieces to create a hypnotic atmosphere of sound that could easily fit into just about anyone's set. Ice Worlds is a perfect example of why the progressive/tech sound has grown so popular.
Eelke Kleijn's remix of Ice Worlds introduces us to a relatively unfamiliar side of Eelke's sound. Generally he is known for his amazingly well-crafted melodic progressive house; but this one is a definite curveball. A damn good curveball, I might add. Eelke's knows a good melody when he hears one, which is why he left intact Davidson's original lead synth line, and then gave Ice Worlds a bit more of a techy feel. Eelke adds his own touches, including a nice thumping bassline; and brings up the energy level a few notches. There are so many varied layers of sound that just blend perfectly within this remix, which is why it should be popular with both the tech and progressive crowds.
Nosmo V. Kris B add an excellent contrast to this package, with a deep house rendition of Things that Get Lost. They start things off with some nice blips and synth stabs, and take things to the next level with the introduction of a deep and groovy bassline, which is complimented by light tones and chords. Everything falls into place with this one, as Nosmo and Kris B. add yet another stunning remix to their rapidly growing discography.
Overall, this is a fantastic release. All 3 mixes shine in their own special way. Something tells me we'll be hearing a lot more from Sebastian Davidson in the future. Stay tuned- I know I will.

Comments from MyPromoPool.com:
"Chicago boys Nosmo & Kris B proving how "Things That Get Lost" will be found once again. Floaty and Holden-esque, it appeals to trance and minimal fans alike. Interestingly enough, I enjoyed the orig of "Ice Worlds" more than the Eelke Kleijn mix. That would be a first indeed, making Sebastian Davidson move up a notch in my charts." - 4.0 / 5

"Now this is a great remix package, each remix having something else to give. The Original is very deep and dreamy. The EK remix is very very techy with all kinds of otherworldly sounds, and the Nosmo and Kris B remix brings it all back to some really good tight prog house." - 5.0 / 5
