Moshic - Quiet Sense (Contrast Records)
Release Date: October 0th, 2008
Reviewed: 4/5
User Rating: 3.8/5

As leading lights of the Israeli progressive scene, Moshic and the Flash Brothers, have done the dark ethnic progressive sound better than most in recent times - this release being no exception. The Contrast label is Moshic's own, and releases have come quarterly so far in 08, going for the quality over quantity angle.

The Quiet Sense Original mix is dark and mysterious, definitely something which would work exceptionally well in a set for radio play. Dancefloor-wise it would work nicely too, solid percussion, cool bass stabs and ethnic atmospherics at the fore.

The Moshic Moroco mix is quite different from the original and features a more traditional use of the vocal sample, chords, guitar, and percussion. Maybe something for the more trance based side of progressive.

The Moshic Dub mix is fair description, and it's a really nice alternative version with its subtle sweeps and strings definitely rounding off this 3 mix package nicely.

A very cool package from Moshic and Contrast Records, with something for the dancefloor, the radio, not to mention for traveling (definitely the Moshic dub). Hopefully we will be seeing more from Contrast Records, Moshic, and a new crop of Israeli underground artists in the coming months and in 2009.
