Interpulse - Transcender EP (Open Records)
Release Date: September 29th, 2008
Reviewed: 3.5/5
User Rating: 4.1/5

Melbourne based artist Interpulse provides this release on the Open imprint, which is based in another Aussie city - Cairns. Lets see how this all Aussie progressive line up fairs....

Transcender is a metallic trippy progressive number with a driving bassline. Definitely something minimal for a late night progressive set.

On a Peg is a little more atmospheric and chilled. Neat percussion ties in with swirly effects and bleeps, another cool track for sure.

The final track in the EP is called Open Channel. In some ways it's a mixture of "Transcender" and "On A Peg" - floaty and metallic, a middle ground between tracks 1 and 2. In my opinion it sneaks it as the best track of the EP, something to end a club set or fit in very nicely into any radio set.

When all is said and done, this all Aussie linkup definitely is of good quality. 3 well produced tracks coming to us from Melbourne via Cairns. Lets hope from more releases from both parties in the near future.

"Transcender chugs along quite nicely, good energy that will be proper for the dancefloor. On A Peg is my next favorite, this will appeal to a lot of DJs with its shuffling percussion and syncopated rhythm. Overall, a strong package and I'm going to consider this for my October chart." - 4.5 / 5
