DropX - Livin In DOS (Freaks Culture Records)
Release Date: September 19th, 2008
Reviewed: 5/5
User Rating: 4.1/5

Drop-x seems to be on a mission: Destroy speakers everywhere with drums. Dirty, sexy, dare we say slightly funky? Freak Cultures Records just can't stop bringing the best progressive of this digital era.

Livin' In DOS is a dark and sinister number with just the right amount of bass, which always lets you know there is more to come. A few slightly euphoric synths mixed with deep-end electro riffs please the party rocker. Partnered with such solid arrangement and mastering, this thing is going to set the party off proper. Period.

Tim Nice's Remix goes quite a bit more minimal with a huge side of tasty tech. Press the headphones tight against your head and float off with some bouncing synth echoes and atmospherics. A naughty bassline and catchy minimalist cymbals do the jig while the hook continues to captivate your daydreaming senses.

The Anthony Dupont Remix is a raw slice of classy tech-house. Buildups and breakdowns are definitely present, so be ready for some switch-ups. A simple low-end grooves along a hot stretch of highway paved with shifty percussion.

If you're going to take the time to produce music, the best thing one can do to create attention is come on strong and never disappoint. Drop-X Has officially done just that with "Livin' In DOS" Hands down, going to be a massive midnight stormer. Paul Parsons is one name to be watching for quality progressive selections that won't disappoint.

"Full support on this one. Absolutely love the dark, sick and twisted vibe that all 3 of these mixes express. I think the Dupont remix is the highest quality production out of the 3, but I still like 'em all. Thanks! " - 4.5 / 5
