Lectrowave - Squarism/Supermarkt Rythmus (Airport Route Recordings)
Release Date: August 18th, 2008
Reviewed: 4.5/5
User Rating: 4.0/5

Created by Steve Daniel of Ireland in 2006, Lectrowave has come a long way from just being an ordinary DJ. With too many ideas running through his head he got a PC and some synths and started producing. A few years and mixes have gone by during which he has put out tracks like Click It, featured in Simon Latham's September Mix, and mixes by other notable DJ's as well. Now Lectrowave brings us his latest, titled "Squarism/Supermarkt Rythmus," out on Airport Route Recording With a predominately electro house sound, both tracks are definitely winners.

Squarism is the first track up on this release. An undeniable bassline gives way to a proggish sound that seems to sway to trancy tendencies at times, making for a refreshingly new sound. Bouncing synths definitely give it that get up and dance (or at least sit at the bar and bob your head) sound.

Supermarkt Rythmus starts off with an intro that reminds me of my earlier days playing with an outdated little Roland drum machine. Supermarkt Rythmus quickly builds in a collaboration of sounds that you will very shortly have stuck in your head! Synthesized genius! Bouncy basslines and rhythms give way to an underlying, almost funk, influence. Beauty in repetition and a surprise breakbeat drive this sure-hit home.
