Paul Hunter - Bones (Ecology Recordings)
Release Date: October 13th, 2008
Reviewed: 3.5/5
User Rating: 3.7/5

With a seemingly insane number of up and coming producers coming out of the woodwork all over the globe, the face of electronic music is once again evolving, and handing the torch to the next generation. Amongst this new breed of talent is Paul Hunter, a product of Doncaster, U.K. Paul has burst onto the scene, winning Pete Tong's Bedroom Bedlam contest, and signing nearly 20 tracks this year (both originals and remixes). U.K.-based Ecology Recordings wasted no time signing Paul's latest creation, "Bones", released on October 13th.

Bones is a fresh and dubby techno tune, dominated by a bouncy synth line that wastes no time getting to the point. The addition of a solid group of synth stabs, white noise, and effects really make "Bones" stand out as a heavy hitting, club-friendly tune. The breakdowns are not overly dramatic, yet they serve their purpose in building the energy level of the track. Bones is a perfect example of how powerful a track can be, even when using a minimal number of parts and avoiding heavy effects. It gives off a fresh and clean aura, while at the same time remaining gritty and powerful enough to move the dancefloor while building your set.

"Bones" should be appealing to those into techno or tech house and it's already received a ton of support from many big players in the industry, while remaining in the top 10 here on ProgressiveHouse.com for a number of weeks. Stay tuned, I don't think Mr. Hunter is done just yet!
