Created by Steve Daniel of Ireland in 2006, Lectrowave has come a long way from just being an ordinary DJ. With too many ideas running through his head he got a PC and some synths and started producing. A few years and mixes have gone by during which he has put out tracks like Click It, featured in Simon Latham's September Mix, and mixes by other notable DJ's as well. Now Lectrowave brings us his latest, titled "Squarism/Supermarkt Rythmus," out on Airport Route Recording With a pre

Melbourne based Bellarine Recordings have been releasing "all that is cool" underground music for a number of years, this release being the 122nd! The label release roll call has amounted to an A-Z of progressive, tech and breaks artists, with the likes of COU Muzik, 4 Mal, Section 75 and Paul Bowen featuring in recent times. This release comes from Neon Logic, and 4 tracks form "The Fallout EP."Track one is called Gravitas and rolls along nicely in a techy direction leading to some nice chimes mid d

San Francisco’s world renowned DJ and Producer, Behrouz teams up with legendary New York label, Nervous Records to bring us “Pure Behrouz NYC,” an extraordinary double disc mix compilation with an eye on the past, present, and future of club music. “Pure Behrouz NYC” drops a set of tunes masterfully pieced together; the way the tracks flow, blend and relate to each other is quite remarkable. The mixing is well thought out and perfectly executed, so smooth, subtle and progressive, the way it should be. Behrou

Melbourne based artist Interpulse provides this release on the Open imprint, which is based in another Aussie city - Cairns. Lets see how this all Aussie progressive line up fairs.... Transcender is a metallic trippy progressive number with a driving bassline. Definitely something minimal for a late night progressive set. On a Peg is a little more atmospheric and chilled. Neat percussion ties in with swirly effects and bleeps, another cool track for sure. The final track in the EP is called Ope

Denver based Polytechnic Recordings will have put out over 40 releases by the end of October! Not bad going for an imprint which kicked off in 2006. Steady support from the industry's finest jocks has become a norm, so that bodes well for the future. This three track release, "Solaris" from Overcast, brings a floaty melodic progressive flavour, which is well reflected in the title, and space age artwork. The Solaris original mix flows nicely; the percussion and drums are tight, whilst being driven by a sub

Certainly not a newcomer to the industry, Pablo Barboza is at it again with another stunning release of solid progressive sounds to make your midnight mix at the local posh joint truly one to remember. The fairly new Uruguay-based Quimika Records does itself justice by tapping Barboza's hometown talent for their quality house music label that has found support from the likes of Cattaneo, Anthony Pappa, Pako & Frederik and Nicholas Van Orton to name a few. Deep Revolution begins just like you would imagine. A

Germany based No Border Recordings, with previous releases coming from the likes of Steve Callaghan and Ciprian Lemnaru, bring us their latest from Julien West. There are two mixes on offer, which for a digital package may be 1 mix too light in my opinion. Ni Hao Original is a good, solid track with tight drums and percussion, not to mention some subtle melodic chimes filling up the mix nicely. Something useful for a radio or promotional mix set for sure. The Pascal Vert remix has an a

Both hailing from the same local area in Russia, Yura Popov and Sergey Ladan are strongly determined to leave their marks in house music. Popov spent many years producing more of a commercial style of music, before really discovering his niche in house in 2007. Sergey Ladan is not a newcomer to house music, he has been in the studio since 2002, and has just recently settled into a new studio. These two talented up-and-comers recently worked together in the studio, and the end result is Yura Popov & Ladan's "Get Kinky EP,

If a record could be a beacon in the darkness, Throne Monterra's "A Good Day For This Fall EP" would show me the way. What initially seems like a trance endeavor gives way to orchestrated tech and uplifting progressive rhythms. Sunset To Sunrise Recordings reminds me once again why I fell in love with this music - soul. For This Fall begins by somehow managing to make a delayed bell sound like a haunting woodwind synth. A soft digital hook gives way to a Moog bass that takes it from what feels like trance to someth

German label Jetlag Digital puts forward this new 5 track "Jet Stream" EP, with plenty of character, from producer & live-act hybrid, Oliver Morgenroth. Jet Stream starts with a dark and funky, live breaks approach. This is the attitude and it's fresh, long gone are digital melodies, you are entering amazon terrain. In fact, glimpses of melody approach for the conclusion, almost saved then forgotten. Still this being said, a tribal and housey sound selection with progressive undertones could be something for the fu

This release is a meeting of several progressive and tech minds, with Nosmo vs Kris B, Ben Brown, Mazi and not to mention Global Underground's Pako & Frederik involved in this particular package. The label providing us with this release is Nosmo vs Kris B's very own Nightshade Records, based in Chicago. The La Cocina Original is a tight little house number with techy stabs and an interesting vocal cut up at various points during the mix. There's a nice dark lounge feel to this mix. The La Cocina Mazi

Drop-x seems to be on a mission: Destroy speakers everywhere with drums. Dirty, sexy, dare we say slightly funky? Freak Cultures Records just can't stop bringing the best progressive of this digital era. Livin' In DOS is a dark and sinister number with just the right amount of bass, which always lets you know there is more to come. A few slightly euphoric synths mixed with deep-end electro riffs please the party rocker. Partnered with such solid arrangement and mastering, this thing is going to set the party off proper. Period.<

As leading lights of the Israeli progressive scene, Moshic and the Flash Brothers, have done the dark ethnic progressive sound better than most in recent times - this release being no exception. The Contrast label is Moshic's own, and releases have come quarterly so far in 08, going for the quality over quantity angle. The Quiet Sense Original mix is dark and mysterious, definitely something which would work exceptionally well in a set for radio play. Dancefloor-wise it would work nicely too, solid percussion, cool

Outside the Box is the label of the Dutch prog master Eelke Kleijn, and since its inception in 2006 has released forward thinking progressive music for those cooler dancefloors. This 3 track EP comes from the Irish artist Stephen Hogg, and is definitely in a deep melodic progressive vibe. Trauma is a warm progressive number with shiny pads, strings, and atmospherics. A solid bassline provides a good basis for the track too. Quality atmospherics from the Dubliner Hogg. Following on from that is track two, e

Stan Kolev is no stranger to producing hit records. After moving from Bulgaria to Miami at a young age, Stan began making ripples in the house music culture back in 1996 as a DJ in many of South Beach's most innovative and legendary venues. Since then, his original and remix production works have been championed by top labels such as Baroque, Plastic Fantastic & Plastica (to name a few); while also being featured on 2 Ministry of Sound compilations, and on other compilations by Paul Oakenfold, Hernan Cattaneo, Kazell

Yuli Fershtat is an immense artist whose curriculum vitae includes 5 albums, 2 compilations and countless releases at well established labels, including his home label Iboga. His constant evolution in music writing and artistry has earned him the respect and consideration of fellow musicians and demanding crowds who know that dancing is also a matter of the heart. Clear Vision builds on a 3 minute progression before the track launches a solid backing bassline that chugs along and eventually picks up a nasty distort

DJ Thee-O is well known in his native California, as well as across much of the Americas. Recently his production output could be likened to Dan Marino's touchdown count in the 1980s i.e. prolific! Thee-O has been reeling off productions thick and fast, expanding his profile far beyond just the Americas in this digital age. His latest production, "Techlife," finds itself released on Federico Giust's Quimika imprint. This South American label is based in the Uruguayan capital of Montevideo, and is a year into its existence

Henri Hurtig aka Cid Inc, is certainly no new-comer to the industry. As one half of the now infamous group Mashtronic, he has consistently produced music that has been widely supported by nearly every big-shot DJ across the globe. Cid Inc brings to us a massive release entitled "The Grill" on the Tolerant imprint. Upon first glance, this package looked promising. And upon listening, it certainly didn't disappoint. The Grill (original mix) is a finely tuned progressive monster, that aims to plea

Segment Records is the brainchild of Manchester, UK based DJ/producer Matt Black. Fulcrum is Gavin Martin, based in Australia and steady gaining momentum with his particular style of twisted progressive spacey grooves. This release contains 3 tracks in EP format, something which definitely bodes well. The first track entitled Sovereign is a nice progressive cruiser with smooth drums and bleepy accompaniment. Definitely something to slot into a radio set or hold the dancefloor. Second up is Still Point, a g
